Profile
Martin Gennart is a lawyer at the Brussels Bar and holds a PhD in law.
Specializing in public sector and pensions law, as well as institutional law, he advises public institutions in particular on pensions, statutes, and regulatory and financial governance. His pensions law practice also extends to the private sector.
Martin draws on more than twenty years of experience at the House of Representatives, where he served as legal advisor and subsequently as financial director and representative of the Members' Pension Fund, giving him an in-depth knowledge of the functionning of public institutions. Notably, he led the pension reforms of 2023 and 2025.
His solid technical expertise is further underpinned by his academic background: as an assistant and later a lecturer, he taught law at the ULB, the UMons and the University of Luxembourg, where he obtained his PhD in 2011. Martin is the author of several publications in public law and graduated from the Sorbonne (2003) and the KU Leuven (2004). He is perfectly bilingual in Dutch and French and also advises our clients in English.
